    Mountain bike helmet question(beginner)

Hey guys I am new to the forum and new to mountain biking in general. Just started about a week ago. I went and bought a Bontrager mountain bike helmet. My concern is that the helmet fits good around my head but sits kind of high up. I am not sure if this is normal for mountain biking helmets or I just have a long head or something

If anyone can explain this to me it would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Different helmets fit differently and have different styles. Go to a bike shop and try on every helmet they have until you find one that fits well and that you think looks good. If you don't find one, go to another bike shop and try again.

I assume you mean that they don't cover much of the side of your head? XC style helmets sit pretty high on my head too.
I haven't had a problem with coverage in crashes, but if I'm pushing it I wear a full face. Helmets with more side coverage are available (i.e. Bell Super).
