looking for tough shoes to ride platforms on

hi all, im a platform pedal guy who rides through some rough, and sometimes wet terrain, and i always seem to rip through my shoes pretty quickly. mainly, ill tear though the front of my shoe where my pinky toes contact the inside of the shoe, and at the ball of my foot.

i ride BMX and skate shoes are pretty damn sturdy, but they dont stay laced very well when im on my mtb for some reason. ive been throwing around the idea of buying a pair of clipless shoes and riding with them on platforms, so i found a few that have flat bottoms that i think might do the trick. here's a pair ive been thinking about getting:

would these shoes or something similar be ok to ride in on platform pedals? im really having a hard time finding shoes that i dont blow out after a handfull of rides, and clipless shoes look to b e the sturdiest and specifically designed to handle the rigors of trail riding. any info or opinions would be really appreciated.

I can't attest to the shoes in the link but I have had great luck with Five Ten Spitfires and Free Riders. I have worn my Spitfires for 2 seasons of riding and building and one run through the wash and they still look close to new.
Great price here if they have your size.

It's the Stealth Rubber sole on 5.10s. One solid piece of rubber and they claim will grip just about any surface. Stiff and solid feeling sole for sure. I have a pair of Freeriders...a few of us are talking about them in another tread here as they are a snug fitting shoe...BUT GREAT for platforms!!

You should really look into some Five Ten Impacts... they are bombproof.

How do the freeriders hold up to water? I'm getting sick of my toes pruning.
