I now understand the love for 5-10s

I had been riding with my DC skate shoes which were pretty good but I finally broke down and bought a pair of 5-10 Freeriders and some Shimano Saint platform pedals. The combination of the two is awesome. I feel glued to the pedals. I have the confidence that I did with clipless but the ability to bail out if needed. I didn't think I would see much difference from the DCs, I was wrong. I am now onboard.

Glad to hear that it's working for you!!!

Oh and here's a friendly suggestion: Take those stickers off your top tube and lose the kickstand (could be dangerous if you take a fall).

You know what, until you pointed it out I forgot the dorky stickers were on there. Good call on the kickstand too. It almost got caught in my spokes on one ride which could have been bad.

I have almost the same combo. Saints with Impact lows (Sam Hill). Couldn't be happier.

5:10 must enjoy the most loyal and reliable customer-base I've ever seen, among which I obviously count myself as well. It must be nice.

Is there a cheap place to buy those? Or are they 100$ everywhere?

Keep your eyes peeled for sales... I got my Impacts for $75 shipped... Maybe a few $$ less. They are amazing shoes though.

Plus 1 for ordering FiveTens from Art's Cyclery.

I didnt know if I was a 12 or a 13, so I ordered the Freeriders in both sizes. Kept the ones that fit, and sent the ones that didnt back with the return label that was included in my shipment. Such an easy experience.

freeriders are regularly $59 or so on 6pm.com. i also have seen quite a few models pop up on chainlove.com the past few weeks.

also, for the record, adidas makes 5.10s now...so adidas gets to enjoy the loyal customer-base of the 5.10 name.
