    Helmet Help

My new bike will be here sometime next week and I figured I should get a helmet for XC.

I was looking at the Fox Flux for 73.99$ on amazon in Matte black since it's the cheapest.

i used a headphone wire around the largest part of my forehead/head and measured that with a tape measure. It measured a smidge more than 23 1/4 (leaving it a little loose, not super tight)

Should I get a SM/MD or L/XL. I want to try it on, but there is no sellers of this model around me unfortunately.

According to the Fox chart, the max on the medium is 23 1/8. The large begins at 23 1/4 so you're looking at a large. Unfortunately since you can't try them on, you can't tell if you you can get by with a medium.

Make sure you are measuring correctly, Fox says about 1" above your eyebrows at the widest point of your head.

BTW, make sure you buy from a store with a return policy. Everyone's head is different and the Flux has had a fair share of fit issues. I had to return mine and i'm not the only one around here with Flux fit problems.

The Flux can also be had for around $55 if you look around.

Go for the fit of the helmet before the price. Without the chin strap clipped you should be able to rock the helmet back and forth and feel your scalp move. I don't like to buy helmets over the internet (I have, but prefer the LBS).
