Good DH shorts???
OK... let me start off by saying that I usually don't care much about fashion while I'm on the trail... I ride for fun, not to look good.
I hate the whole bright neon lycra look, while I understand it's usefulness, I still don't really care for it.
With that being said, when it comes to MTB fashion, and being an old BMXer, I like the DH look much better even though I don't really have any DH riding where I live.
So now to the question...
What is a good, comfortable, and cool (temp wise) DH short that the crotch wont catch on the seat when I shift back?
Thanks in advance...

Usually, "DH shorts" are beefy and don't have a padded liner - is that what you want, or do you want the baggy style with padded liner?

No padded liner... I want them to fit well, especially in the crotch... not too baggy, but not skin tight like lycra... and they need to take a beating.

Check out Endura Hummvee. Seamless crotch doesn't catch as much as some others. Kind of expensive but they will take a beating.

Jett Lightning Short - Lightning Short - Closeouts
I doubt you will ever find a better featured short for this sale price. This one might just spoil you so much that you bury the rest of your shorts that you may have considered for biking. Comes with a liner too, so you can use that with your other shorts for putting in some miles, so you have some fitness to maybe ride up the hill easier.
