    Giro Xar or Athlon

Can anyone tell me if the Xar would be too hot a helmet for summer riding cross country? Would the Athlon be a better choice?

No, if you like the Xar, go with it. I bought one this spring, and it's pretty well-ventilated. It was comfortable in the 80s-90s in SW UT.

I have the Xar and I was riding in 100*+ weather in So Cal. No problems. I also use a sweat gutr with it to keep the sweat out of my eys.

What are the differences between the Xar and the Athlon? I found a deal on the matte black Athlon for $69 and pulled the trigger but never really researched the differences between each model.
