    DIY Helmet Padding

I finally cracked my 5 year Bell helmet yesterday, and despite the very crappy padding, the lid did its job.

I've been looking at a few Enduro-style helmets, Urge, POC, Giro, 661, etc, and it seems that many of the gripes these helmets gets are in the sweat catcher at the front of the helmet.

Anyone ever glue new padding on the forehead area of a helmet?

my dad put some pads from a skate lid on the front of his giro helmet (not sure of the model, some high end xc lid i think) but it was more to conform to his odd head than catch sweat. if you want to change the helmet padding i would think it would be a really easy task.

I would suggest trying adhesive Velcro before glue? Much easier to fine-tune the placement

I've used thick strips of neoprene cut from an old wetsuit. You can find small pieces of ebay. Works great and doesn't soak up sweat. Use contact cement.
