    Chin Strap?

OTB this weekend, but all's well that ends well.... Six stitches and a filling to fix a chipped tooth. Fortunately it was Friday early so I was able to get into local doc and dentist before they closed for the long holiday weekend, and got back in the saddle the next day.

But wow, I have a new regard for helmets and protection. I am seriously considering DH full face helmet, but will probably go with an AM helmet with more coverage and a football style mouth guard, but I'm also looking for a protective chin strap.

Anybody know of a chin strap that works with mountain biking helmets?Chin Strap?-imageuploadedbytapatalk1369629049.510089.jpg

So were NOT wearing a helmet?

But at any rate, how did you end up with a cut below the chin?

Yes, was wearing a well-fitting Bell Influx, and it worked as intended. I went over the bars and flew through the air thinking "this won't be too bad" but landed arms out, face first on top a sharp desert rock pile. Ouch. Chipped a tooth, jammed 2 fingers, six stitches on chin, but got fixed up that afternoon ( dentist and doctor) made a 12 mile townie ride and a 17 mile night ride the next day, so I consider myself lucky. I don't think I'll ever race fast downhill again (really) unless I'm competing in a race. This was a wake-up call for me about the risks of riding. I'm not especially fast but at age 48 can usually can hit top 25-35% on a Strava XC or road segment .... I just don't know that I want to run on the edge going downhill on the trail anymore. My recent rides have been full buster going up but quick cruise going down, and I'm all good with that.
