    Best Protection/Armor

I recently decided that i need to go and buy some armor for myself. I have looked at the six six one, Troy Lee Designs but i am just wondering if high price tag means the best. Im looking into knee pads, chest armor jacket or whatever thats called and a nice DH helmet. If you have any suggestions please state them.

You left out some important info. that will determine which armor to buy - are you going to pedal uphill ? Strictly DH armor can offer the best protection, coverage but @ the expense of movement and XXX heat. XC/ AM armor usually has less coverage but less heat. Whatever you do best to try on before you buy.

Like bikes there is allot of great body armor out there. I like allot of products from EVS, they have been innovators in body armor for quite awhile. The TLD knee/shin guards look really sweet, you have soft protection then strap & velcro on hard armor over the soft.
