I don't understand how the rep thing works, or what the point is. Would somebody please explain?

You go over to the thumb underneath someone's avatar. And you either give positive or neg feedback based on how you view someones post. It doesn't really do anything it just shows you find the post positive and the user can be distinguished as a positive poster who has a good rep and is someone to get good advice from.

same thing happened to me but on the 29er Forum - said I shouldn't write reviews for rep when I had questioned about not getting rep after writing reviews. I've written quite a few reviews and not got rep for them - but who cares, writing reviews is a service and I'm sure many appreciate it. (Haven't heard much about the prizes yet though )
