Will Turbo 1980 saddle endure AM type riding?
Sorry if the questions seems stupid but I really would like to know that. I have WTB aviator on my AM setup and I like the saddle but when I've tried Selle Italia Turbo 1980 on my friend's XC racer bike it felt much more comfortable for me. I really love it's retro look too.
So the question is - will it endure some harsher riding? I am confused by those FeC alloy rails on the saddle. FeC would mean "Steel" but it's not even cromoly. What exactly is it and how much weaker is it compared to usual chromoly?
its not the riding id be worried about its the crashing. doubt it would stand up to years and years of crashing like your wtb. my wtb silverado is the only surviving part from my very first bike, and it has taken the brunt of many crashes
I'd be more concerned on whether your butt can take the whooping you'd be putting on it by sitting on the saddle over rough terrain.
This whole AM marketing overload is really getting to a rediculous point. What's next, AM socks??? How about AM condoms?
IMO, if it's comfy and you like it, ride whatever saddle floats your boat. A bad crash in a XC race can just as easily crap out that saddle.
Just stop crashing and you'll be ok.
