What bike to get under $2500

i am looking in to getting a new bike about a $2500 budget. I was thinking of getting the trek rumble fish or the specialized stumpjumper FSR comp 29er. What do you guys think? I am kinda leaning towards a 29er. Thanks.

Anything you buy from a reputable brand is going to be a decent bike in that price range. I'd say test ride every kind of bike you can and pick what feels the best. You might come home with a bike you hadn't even considered and the internet can't make that choice for you.

I have a modded cannondale rz 120 2 for sale. I know it's not a 29er but it is an awsome bike that falls in your range

If you can get a Spesh Stumpjumper FSR 29 under 2500 then go for it. Looks great, have good reviews and it's a very capable bike. If I had the money I would consider to get it. If you can try it out first, but I think you can't make such a big mistake with it.
By the way, the geometry differences between the Stumpjumper FSR Evo Comp and the normal FSR Comp are beacause of the 10mm longer fork and 5mm longer shock travel?
Obviously the best choice would be that if Canyon would make a long travel 29er but they havent done yet. I hope they will make one.

If you aren't sold on the 29er and still want a good all-mountain bike, The SC Heckler with the Revelation fork is pretty decent. Just got one this year, and so far I love riding it.

I've seen Enduro Comps for $3k. I'd go for that.

At that price point, it is hard to beat Giant. They make fantastic bikes. I beat the crap out of a Reign for 3 years and it never batted an eye. From huge climbs to riding lifts at Deer Valley, it did everything.

Thanks guys for all your advice. I ended up getting the base model 13' trek rumblefish for $2500 out the door with a free reverb dropper post. I will be taking it out for the first ride tomorrow. I can't wait

My Trek Rumblefish I got a reverb dropper post, SRAM x9 type 2 rear derailleur and replaced the largest chain ring with a race face bash guard.

I love this bike 4' drops no problem handles really well. My only complaint is the breaks avid elixir 3 they sound like crap heat up really bad lots of brake fade.
