Used CB Joplin - Maintenance Questions

Found a used Joplin post. I think it's an older model. There is no play in the seat clamp assembly itself, or where it attaches to the internal shaft. However there is a considerable amount of play between the lower section of the post, and the shaft itself.

    Is this normal ?

Can I do the maintenance myself ?

If anyone who has experience with these CB posts can help out it'd be much appreciated.

Call CB. They can probably rebuild it.... It's CB, why did you buy used?

Yes, this normal and was one of the huge complaints with the Joplin. Mine did it. As long as it is operating good, ride and have fun. You don't really notice the play that much in the saddle anyways.
