So you can shift through all 11 cogs with the 10 speed shifter?

Not quite. You gotta lose the 17 tooth cog from the cassette and add the 42 behind it.

Hoping for one of these kits to be compatible with an SLX cassette...

Kind of irritated that my $4k bike that I bought BECAUSE it had an XT drivetrain cheaped out on the cassette and now it means I can't use this product.

    Cool-blue Rhythm

I have been rocking a 2X10 with a 40,27 with a 41t cassette on the rear I took off my 13t but I am looking at getting a 16t and will take off the 15t and 17t. I have been on this for 7 months with no problems.

Anyone running the 42T on a XT M771 try replacing the 15t & 17t cogs with a Miche 16t? If so, how is the shifting with the Miche?

I originally wanted to get one of these large cassette cogs for climbing but even after 4-5 rides I'm already finding myself to be a stronger rider by not having a bailout gear and forcing myself to use a harder gear.
