    prototype trek slash/remedy 29er?

I was biking in Fruita over the weekend and saw this little jewel. I've read you can only get black rockshox stanchions if you're a pro rider, so the bike instantly grabbed my attention. Then i noticed it was un-badged and had a testers rear shock. With the release of the enduro 29er this would make sense. Here is a photo......any thoughts?

Maybe a new 2014 Trek going through final validation with suspension settings? A 29er Remedy or Slash would be a direct competitor to the 29er stumpy evo or new enduro, in terms of big company bikes and I wouldn't be surprised to see one this year. Trek does make a 29er Lush with the EVO link ABP suspension but the frame in the pic looks too big to be womans specific and doesn't have the curved tubes the Lush currently does, so I think you did snap a proto bike. It's interesting that there is no Stealth routing, but maybe they just didn't have a stealth post and the routing is indeed there. I am hoping RS comes out with those black stanctions this year, even if it's not the true "black diamond" coating, but a more economical copy.

    trek slash/remedy 29er?

Rumor from the LBS under good authority, is that Trek is going 650b and 29 for all but gravity in 2014.

STANCHIONS are the upper fork tubes that are connected to the fork crown and slide into the fork lowers. Sanction is a bike made by GT. Stanction is not even a word.

Thanks for the proto bike pic, though.

I spoke to the local trek dealer yesterday and he spoke to trek. They were totally in denial. So gotta be true then!

I want a carbon slash or scratch 29er or maybe 650b please trek. At least 160mm of travel, 5mm more than the enduro, for a 29er or 170mm or more for a 650b.
I don't need a front mech , so that solves one design issue! Oh and make the top tube longer !

So here it is, a 140mm 29er remedy and a fuel ex 29er.
Wonder what the surprise announcement will be then? Got to be a slash/ scratch 29er surely?
Hope it is, I really want a 160mm travel 29er , as long as they get the geometry right.
