Trek Fuel 98 Rear suspension question.

Hello all. I have a 98 carbon and am looking for a new rear suspension shock. My question is what kind of shock would you recommend and what size would I need?

I currently have a blown Fox float.

Measure it eye-to-eye, then take the air out and measure the travel. That'll get your sizing, e.g. 6.5x1.5 inches.

I really like the RP23, but there's lots of options.

^i think you may have nailed it. just eyeballing it it looks like a 6.5x1. but measure i2i and stroke. for stroke you dont have to air it down, just measure the exposed piston. as for type, a single air can like a rs monarch or fox ctd would do the trick nicely.
