    Trail bike recommendation. (upgrade)

I currently own SJ '05 FSR with 100mm travel (F100 Fox and RP2 6.5x1.5) with 2x9 XTR (everything but crank which is SLX) I am looking to move on to something more trail oriented than XC. What would you recommend? Lately I have been looking at Yeti SB66 and Pivot 5.7 But I would like to hear your opinion.

what your price range. what do you plan on riding with it. where do you ride now. trail would be considered 120-140 and all mountain 150-160, obviously as suspension increases, downhill performance increases while climb and pedalability decreases. its a matter of finding the balance or knowing your priorities. I rode a xc bike and then got an all mountain bike. I was amazed at the increase in downhill ability when I went from 100 to 150. but I suffered climbing with a 10lb heavier bike. After cracking the 150 I decided 140 would suit my style trails and needs. I did give up an edge downhill but welcomed it for longer rides.

the trails and your style of riding is the deciding factor. sb66 is praised as a highend ride. kind like bmw vs Honda. you don't need a boutique brand to rip hard, have fun and be fast. I got one friend who can ride any piece of junk harder and better than myself. hes just a natural hucker. he scares me when hits stuff blind without checking it first. but hes a rider.
