Are there twodifferent types of Shimano BR-M525 brakes?

The reason I ask is that a guy working on my bike said I had a series of Shimano brakes that were really good brakes. He said there were two styles of BR-M525s. One would burn up extremely fast and the others worked great. I bought the bike used and can't remeber exactly which brakes I had on my bike. How can you tell the difference between the two if this actually exists? Any help? Thanks!

Maybe for OE models they shipped with two different types of pads depending on the bikes application and price point.

But as far as the calipers are concerned, no. They're all the same. The Deore moniker is now 535. Maybe they were still shipping OE 525's when the 535 model was released and he was comparing those two. But they're still essentially the same, aluminum calipers, steel pistons, resin pads...
