Sj fsr elite 2014 - ordered

Finally, i ordered the new 29er of specialised. I am pretty happy. The color available was the black-green one and size is large. It will arrive in about 20 days. It will be my first 29er, lets see how it can handle things. All my life i rode hardtails. I will be back in a few weeks with photos and reviews of how it does uphill, downhill, cornering, pedal bobing etc..

If you don't mind me asking, what other bikes were you looking at and why did you settle on the Stumpy?

to be honest my dream bike the remedy 9 (650b), but unfortunately i must wait 3 more months for it to come. Stumpy was available already in my size. U can't go wrong with the brain settings in fsr elite. I certainly would like it to have a kashima coating in the fork or some xt brakes, but it's ok. I also looked for scott genius, but they would come after 6 months. Cannondale, too, but too much money and the components were absolutely bad for the price. I am nearly a month without a bike and i wanted one fast. Guys who had tested the s-works 29er fsr and enduro, were blown away by the way the bikes handled the trails. Of course it's s-works, but ok.

i don't want to advise u. But the country i live in, has not much of an evolution in bike industry, like US or Germany. There a few, very few, stores that are serious and willing to do correct measurements for your fit size etc. There is no santa-cruz, or norco, or pivot dealers here. So if u live abroad, i am sure you have more options. Certainly the remedy is one hell of a bike and would be the one that i would order if it could come more early. Anyway, we are now talking about top brands here, it's like comparing the mercedes and the porsche.

That is no good on your bicycle options. I look forward to reading a full review of the Stumpy!

I'm pretty set of demoing everything I can get my hands on before buying.

Although I would have probably waited for the Remedy to come in if I were in your shoes, the Stumpjumper is not a bad bike whatsoever. It has all Shimano and Fox suspension, good quality components.
