Well Nevada county has a new trail, the Scott's Flat trail which starts at the 5 mile house on hwy 20 and winds down to Scott's Flat lake. I would like to thank all the volunteers who helped out on this project, the Scott's Flat project team that overcame many obstacles, and to Forest Trails Alliance who initiated the idea of a new trail as well as designed it and guided construction. It was an amazing effort that produced a trail that will be enjoyed for a years to come. The official opening and ribbon cutting ceremony will be this Friday the 31st at 10 o'clock at the main gate of Scott's Flat lake. All of the land manager's will be there, so come out and show your support for more trails like Scott's for our community.

We are still short in our funding for the trail, and we would love to be out of the red by the ribbon cutting. If you have ridden the trail and loved it, or if you ever ride in the area, please consider making a donation and being an important part of this effort. Go to foresttrailsalliance and donate via paypal at the bottom right of the page (specify in the comments section on PayPal that the money is for Scotts).

Without further ado, here is a video of the completion of a stone arched bridge toward the bottom of the trail. Special mention to Zachi Anderson of Forest Trails Alliance for his effort in designing and leading construction of the bridge, It makes the trail that much more special. Enjoy!
