Santa Cruz Nickel VS. Yeti ASR-5 Alloy?

Anyone here have the pleasure of riding/comparing these two? Anyone make a change from one to the other?

Opinions please. Mainly- which one climbs better?

    TIA

Haven't ridden the SC, but I have ridden the Yeti. It climbs really well but no way is it an AM bike IMO: more a long travel xc bike.

Sounds like you have some tough choices to make...

Haven't ridden the Nickel, but looked at it when shopping for a xc bike. As soon as I saw the weight it was off my list, 7.37 lbs! Thats more than a Heckler or Nomad and my AM bike. More weight, less travel...

I can'r recommend the Nickel enough, it is more of a heavy hitting XC bike though, but it is an awesome climber and mine weighs 28lbs which is by no means heavy.

I know a guy who used to have the Yeti and he tells me the SC is a better climber, the frames are bombproof and the quality is sky-high too.

    Hope that helps
