saddle x handle bar (grips) height ?
I am new here
I have just gotten a Trek Superfly AL 23" frame, I am 6'1" tall.
I want it for real hard off-road stuff (say all kinds of mountain biking), but I wonder if there is a rule of thumb for the height of the hand grips in relation to the saddle.....
The bike as I got it have both more or less on the same height, but I am not sure if this is the common rule for mountain biking...please, is there any kind of "magic numbers" to rely upon ?
Thanks a lot,
Treks bike manuals say set your seat so that when your heels are on the pedals (with no shoes on) your legs should just straighten out when you pedal. and GT says, most people find that the seat and bars should be at about the same height. ive set my bike up that way. seems good to me
however, if youre doing a lot of downhill, technical stuff, yould want to lower you seat quite a bit, so it doesnt get the your way
