    Process 153 or Giant Reign 27.5 2

I'm looking for a bike that I can try and crush super gnar on, but still be able to ride up the hill and not be too bored on the ride through the groomed stuff on my way to the technical. I like to ride the most technical trails I can find, and I want to go faster over the rocks and take bigger drops and jumps. I keep reading that I want a playful bike. Do I? Don't I just want a mini DH bike that I can still have a pleasant yet slow trip up the hill on? I've narrowed it down to the process 153 or Giant Reign 27.5 2. Same price, same fork, I don't care about the component differences, I can change that over time. I'm just trying to decide which frame to invest in. I also have a steel 29er hardtail I ride for any XC trails I want to hit, so I don't need a single bike solution.

Anyone ridden both? I ride shuttle runs about 1/4 the time, but like to add a full climb to them sometimes to have all day epics. I don't visit the lifts very often, maybe once a year, but maybe that will change...

Ive only done a parking lot ride on the 650b Reign and it felt way more stretched out then my 2013 Reign 1. It felt nice.

I know it sounds like a nitpick but the Overdrive (1 1/4") standard would throw Giant off my radar. I just wouldn't want to own a fork and stem with a proprietary steering tube size.
    The cake is a lie.

They come with regular steerer tubes now. Overdrive 2 is 1 1/4.

As obs08 said, reign if any climbing is involved. Process is a cool ride no doubt, but the giant just appeals to me more.

    Got the Reign

Rode the process 153, rode the reign 10 minutes later. I bought the reign. Way more aggressive downhill stomper that pedaled pretty well. Process accelerated faster for sure.

I think the Reign 2 is a great value when you compare it to the Reign 1 in price. Still get some nice parts on it.

I got the Reign 1. I already have a 1X10 wolf tooth/cinch drivetrain to put on it.
