    New SLX cranks: pedal inserts?

Can anybody tell me if they carried over the steel pedal inserts on the new SLX Crankset?

The older version had some on the double version, is it the same thing for the new one?

    M675 version I think.

    TIA!

Hmm I had it in my mind that they did, a quick googleate seems to think they do not.
They were on my build list.
    Back to Zee?
    Care no inserts?

Why not the old 665 cranks?

The Zee cranks are the M545 Deore set up from a couple of years ago, re-badged and with new chain rings. You can probably get the M545s a lot cheaper and it's identical save for slightly heavier chain rings.

Unless you're far north of 200lb or jumping the inserts don't make much difference.

The biggest culprit in stripped cranks isn't jumping or weight but rock strikes.

Ha good spotting. The zee and deore cranks are really the same crank!!

As for not stripping the pedal threads, it really depends on what style of riding you preach and your weight + intangibles. I stripped some XTs not too long ago, and some XTRs back in the days, so I'm kinda paranoid about that now. Probably irrational, but it's still there. Not that much of a big guy, but still 185 + I ride/race pretty aggressively.

Love the new saints though. I have the previous version and it's insurance policy for worry free riding in terms of cranks.

    Thanks for the tips guys.

Are you talking about pedal washers? If so, you can pick them up at your lbs.

Non, talking about the actual steel inserts in the pedal threads to reinforce the connection between the pedal and the crank

Not sure depending on the version.

The double version seems to be sporting a different, thicker spider thus *ucking up the bashguard option (like the saint cranks). It would offset the bashguard and put too wide of a gap between the bash and the chainring.

You could do it on the triple version though I'm pretty sure.
