    Need new crank.

I have an 08' XAM 1 thats completly stock. So far its been great to me. I love the abilities of this bike, but latley i've been riding it much harder then when i first got it,and i find that i'm hitting my cranks & pedals way more then i'd like to be.I'm not too worried about weight..i'd just like to get something strong and slightly shorter maybe. What options should i be looking at? Thx in advance folks!

Sounds a bit strange, maybe you should set up your rear shock so that you don't blow through the travel as easily, shorter cranks would make a minimal difference - at most 10 mm and depending on your height you would lose leverage - making it harder to pedal a given gear.
