Need frame recommendation - pls see parameters tnx

    Hi.

I'm looking for a frame. Following are the specs:

    Size 15-16 or XS

Headtube angle 67.5 to 68.5 degrees

    Threaded bottom bracket/not pressfit

    Preferably with ISCG tabs

    120 to 140mm travel

    Tapered headtube

    26er

    Aluminium, no carbon

IOW, frames similar to a Fuel EX but cheaper and doesn't use "proprietary" components (unlike Trek which makes use of "proprietary" shocks). Trance was a contender until I realized that a 2011 frame has a HTA of 69.5 degrees.

    Thanks.

You can get the blur lt carbon for $1500 at competitive cyclist. I know you said no carbon but this frame has been proven to be a beast. Ticks all your other boxes.

You missed out on the Yeti asr5 blowouts. Other than those, can't think of many at or below the $1500 price point.

I'm biased because this is my main ride, but this frame checks all of the boxes for you: Transition Bikes

    Hi.

I'm looking for a frame. Following are the specs:

Try Tallboy LTc for fun, you'd be surprised...

    Size 15-16 or XS (I'm 5'5" on a medium)

Headtube angle 67.5 to 68.5 degrees (69 but feels great; you can add angleset)

Threaded bottom bracket/not pressfit (Threaded and serviceable)

Preferably with ISCG tabs (Have them but use Bionicon chain guide)

    120 to 140mm travel (140mm front, 135 Rear)

    Tapered headtube (That too, definately)

26er (Sorry but the Tallboy LTc trumped my Nomad)

Aluminium, no carbon (Plastic for sure; saves greatly in weight with the same build kit)

Again terribly sorry to intrude but give it a try at least and don't discard the Bronson (650b)

I went to a couple of Trex demos and rode 4 bikes and decided that the Fuel EX was the one I liked best. Then I rode a Blur TRc and a Tallboy LTc. I now own a Blur TRc. I liked it more than the Fuel EX and I like the option to go to 650B if I want to.

The aluminum Blur TR fits all of your things except for the ISCG tabs. Personally, I like the carbon.

Unfortunately, Santa Cruz is expensive. Blur LT alum frame alone costs an entire 2013 Giant Reign 1.

Can you give us a price range? There are plenty of boutique vendors like Ventana who will make you exactly what you want, but you'll pay for it.

you could look for a used frame. being that a size small/x-small is what you are after I would be less worried that the bike was beat to hell by the previous owner. Not saying that it couldn't have been ridden hard, just that the owner probably wasn't pushing clyde territory and adding extra stress to the frame.

Like I said earlier, you really did miss out on the ASR5 blowouts. Perfect frame for you but no ISCG tabs.
