I had one before my Covert. Great bike! Simple and durable. I ran it with a Vivid coil, and then a Monarch (with a shorter than stock eye-to-eye).

Personally, I ran it for both. The first season I had it, I used it for mostly lift-serviced DH runs. And then the following year, the bike saw mostly XC/AM-type riding. Worked well for both, but maybe leans more toward the FR end of things. With the right component choice, you could build one into a fairly light, durable do-it-all ride.

dude shova is the perfect AM bike, but is def capable of some light FR

Im running an Mbuzi (6")and I use it for XC and mini DH, but mostly XC, set up right its perfect and in fact riding it more than my Anthem X on XC as its far more fun

The Shova LT can do it all. I thrashed mine in the alps for a month, then went on a cycle tour for a month around The Netherlands, Germany and Belgium towing a bob trailer and 25kg's worth of gear. My Shova LT is running an Shimano alfine 8spd hub just for something different. Have a post in the IGH forum somewhere about how I did it if anyone's interested.

It's a freeride bike right? It's supposed to go anywhere. Cycle touring included!
