Looking for 29er tire similar to Purgatory 2.4

Looking for a tire that has similar traits as the Purgatory 2.4, that Specialized doesn't make any more. Grip, volume, weight and durability. Have a Hans Dampf now, but side knobs are tearing too soon. Every tire that looks good is heavy. Have a Purgatory 2.3 on the rear that measures 2.1 and looks skinny. Like to run big tires front and rear. The 2.4 were the best tires I have put on my RIP 9. Now have Tallboy LTc and going to put the last Purgatory 2.4 in the world, on front. What do I put on when it wears out? Have tried Adent 2.4, good but lack serious grip. Have tried some WTB tires but not the more recent ones. Every thing seems to be 1/2 pound heavier. So if I have to go with heavier I want some traction and a decent rolling tire. What do you like. Posting in a few forums.

Take a look at Maxxis line. Their new tires are true to size. I now have 2.3 3C MaxxTerra DHF front and 2.3 Dual Compound DHR II rear on Enduro 29. Both are excellent from volume/grip/durability point of view, but a bit slow for rear wheel. I might try Maxxis Ikon 2.35 for rear - or may be future Specialized Slaughter.
