    kona shred for xc?

hey all. i've been bouncing back and fourth on which bike to buy lately and i stumbled on a guy around my part selling an '04 shred for $175. the bike is a 17" which would fit me well, but geo wise its a djer.

first question, is it a decent price? second, if i put a longer stem with a slight rise you think it would make the geometry a little better for climbing?

I had a 2005 shred that i rode om trails, it was fun but not the best ride for longer rides. Anything over 90 min of riding without lots of stops to play around on obstacles and i was not loving it. Changing the stem doesnt change geometery, it just can make the bike fit better.

I say, if its big enough that you can put seat up high enough to get
Proper leg extentsion, go for it.
