    KindShock Storage?

Do you leave your KS up or down when not in use and does it matter?

On a somewhat related note, I've noticed a small difference in behavior when tightening the red collar when in the down or up position.

When tightened in the UP position, the post returns faster but sometimes pops up a 1/2 inch after depression (without triggering the remote of course)...

Alternatively, If I tighten it in the down position, it stays down but if the cable is stretched or simply not tight enough, it will sometimes not return 100%.

Regardless, easy to tune and make it work correctly. However, I'm new to KS and haven't yet serviced mine and don't know how it functions. I'm curious if they recommend storing it up or down...

What's up, nobody has an opinion on this? Must be an all time first on MTBR?

I just got a specialized command post blacklite. So far, I leave it in the down when not riding to prevent it from collecting duct on the post. I will be lubing the post with tri-flow every 4 or so rides to keep the post operating smoothly.

I had the same question. I recenelty took mine off a frame I stripped and am saving it for when my Joplin 4 craps out on my other bike.

My KS 950i came in a box from Kind Shock in the down position so I'm assuming that is an OK way to store them. I put it back in the box, compressed. Hope that's OK.

I have been traveling with mine requiring me to leave it in the down period for extended periods. Prior to that I always kept it up.

After cycling it a few times I can tell no difference.

I store my i900 with the post compressed about halfway.
I keep the collar tight, a loose collar may cause excessive wear on the bushing and shaft.

I'm new to KS and haven't yet serviced mine and don't know how it functions.
