    Hardtail or full suspension?

These both seem to be really nice bikes. I'm not sure how they would do on some drops. I'm sure they would both be fine for it at your weight. The hardtail has a little more goodies like clipless pedals and 9 speed cassette. These are not really that necessary. If i were you I would go with the Iron Horse Maverick Pro DS. Seems like a solid bike for 500 bucks. I'm sure there will be some other opinions though.

    Coupons

I forgot to mention that performance usually has atleast 10% off so that will make up for the price of shipping. Check http://www.bikewebsite.com/Otherbikesources.htm for coupons and other deals.

This one also seems to be a really nice frame with some decent components. Ever since I experienced my sram shifters and deraileur I don't think that i will buy a bike with shimano stuff again(with the exception of the front deraileur).

Just check out the review section of this website and see what people say. I am very content with my ironhorse.

Oh and it seems that Rs cycles is running an awesome deal if you buy anything over $400 with them you get an awesome cycling kit. Deffinitely worth buying with them, but the deal ends tomorrow.

If it were my descision i would get the full suspension maveric pro and just get a stronger spring if necessary for the drops.

Let us all know what you decide.
