I'm asking, because I do feel like a flyweight in this forum. Most people here post stuff like "I'm looking for a bike or a fork etc., I'm 6'0 and 220-300lbs"
I was wondering if the average AM rider is heavier than the average XC guy, and lighter than the average DH/FR guy, or if it's all random.

    6' 1"
    190 lbs
    Body fat: Yes

Most of my hardcore XC mates are racing whippets for sure, but when you get more into AM and DH/FR I find you tend to get more of a random mixture.

I thought it sounded like a logical question instead of the "Best AM Weight Plan". It can make an impact on bike and suspension choices depending on the rider's weight and size. BTW, I'm 6' 0" and weigh 190.

You would die without body fat. Your supposed to maintain about 13-15% body fat.

I'm 5-8 and 200lbs buck nekkid. I haven't had a body fat test done since last year (caliper method), but my Tanita scale is saying I'm around 10%, give or take 2%. No wonder I'm slow.

    All legs and lung

6 feet + 0.5 inches tall and 150lb give or take. Body fat is low, but could be lower. I can pretty much eat & drink as much as I like during riding season.

Yeah, someone guessed! You were close. Well, within 10% anyway. Upon second thought that's not really close.

    Another hint: higher.

Yes, I know this is a silly game, but it's a damn silly thread, so there you go.

I'll have to come up with a prize, like the winner gets to rub my belly or something. Actually, that should probably be the punishment for the loser.

I've got a few 661 and Race Face stickers I could part with. The first person to guess within 3lbs gets 'em. BTW, they're really lame stickers that aren't even worth the stamp price to send them. But I'll send them out anyway.

Does weight and height have something to do with how well you are able to ride? Seriously...is it a bike size/weight kind of thing? I know that I take a pretty big bike but I don't need it to be burly since I'm a flyweight. This must have impact on the ride quality and design elements, right?

Five foot 9, 138 pounds, and I haven't beeen in this kind of shape since my mid twenties (when my BF measurement was 8%).

This is a good place to be when you're 40.

The bodyfat... Well last time we measured and that is not to long ago it was almost 20%. My colleague could not believe it so we tried both machines we had available et voila 20%. We called the suplier of the machines. He came to our office with an even fancier machine and still 20%...

I'll go for some cheese fondue now...

    fairly low body fat.

i have a feeling that all the really skinny posts are also young people, around 20 or younger, i started to gain weight as soon as i hit 20 a few years ago, its been harder to maintain weight ever since.

My body fat is lower than it was but still not where I want it. I bet by winter i'll be pretty much where i want to be but then they'll be no biking (which is my main cardio exercise) and we'll start the process over again. To a lesser degree this time though.

I must be the smallest guy on the All-Mountain forum at 5'2" and 105lbs. I have no clue what my bodyfay % is, but it can't be much. there's a lot of muscle packed onto this small frame.

Yay stickers! Ha ha.. I'd say 275.

    My #'s though..
    Height: 5'10
    Weight: 160
    Body Fat: 17%

I don't know if most of you really know what % body fat you have when guessing this.. All I can say is, I am not a BIG guy, and for me to have 17% body fat is pretty crazy. So, some of you saying that you have 10% and under need to eat more. (also, this is based on the fact that lots of people that posted are about the same weight/height bracket as myself). Anything under about 10 is pretty unhealthy.. Anyways.. That's just my input!
