Hi, new biker here looking for help

Hi, my name is Alan and I live in Buenos Aires, i was looking out there for getting a new bike, and i found this forum which is very helpful, i saw some GTs and Jamis here (Arg) that are good for the price im looking for.. around 350-450u$s... now im asking if anyone here have some tips to recognize real or fake GTs or Jamis frames, if anyone can help me with images it would be very good. If in this forum we have any thread with this kind of info please refer me. Thx all.

Rather than that I think he's trying to make sure the bikes that are of interest to him aren't knock-offs.

To the original poster, I'd suggest getting links/pictures of the bikes you're looking at and post them up.

Yeah I don't know why someone would assume he's going to make fakes and rip people off. That was kind of rude...

It looks like he's just trying to make sure the bikes he purchases aren't knock offs....

I agree, the best way to figure it out is to compare the frames to images online, and if possible, try to find the serial number on the frame, and see if you can call the company to verify that the frame is real.

    I Don't Think So....

Nobody is going to bother producing fake GT and Jamis bikes. They are considered low-end and the market for them is nothing like Trek, Specialized or Cannondale.

if it is made of licorice, or anything edible, then it is a fake, otherwise, you are good to go......
