    help save my vacation!!!

So thanks to our useless congress, me and my family will not be going on the White Rim trail in Canyonlands Natl Park this year. Plan B was to hit up Moab and enjoy all of those trails, but there is zero hotel rooms available at the moment (there is 1 for 600 a night )so where else would a good destination mountain bike be withis driving distance from Salk Lake? Fruita, Sun Valley, Tahoe? Any ideas are great. Oh, the 'fam' consists of 6 adults and my 6 month old. Skill levels are from beginner to expert.

Fruita would be the ticket. There is a lot of riding up in Vernal also - that's not too far from SLC. Sun Valley is probably epic this time of year, with the fall weather and all. Saint George has lots of trails.

When are you looking to go? Tahoe is nice now and a few early season storms should be helping the conditions. It's also the shoulder season, so it's not going to be that crowded on the trails or in finding a place to stay. If you decide to go that route, lmk, I have a rental in Truckee that may be available for a lot less than hotel rooms.

For sure. I will let you know if that is the direction they want to go.
