    Headset spares?

sorry if this is in the wrong section but i cant find a place to post. (if you know where it should be please say and i'll move it lol)

So having an all moutain bike i thought id stick it in here!

Ive just received my new Rock Shox Lyrik 2 Step on Warranty and have just installed them. Only after doin some research i realised i had left the crown race on the returned Fork. I have ordered, recieved and installed this.

But now i am realising that i left another part on them.

It is the part of the headset which sits on the crown race which in turn connects to the bearings.

Does anyone know what this is called and where i can get one from? I dont want to buy a new headset as money is tight at the moment!

The Headset is an FSA Orbit Z and the bike is a Cube Frittz 08.

There is nothing that goes between the crown race and the bearing....

By your picture, it looks like maybe the frame uses a 1.5 headtube (never heard of 'Cube' and the site is entirely in german....)...in which case, you have an orbit Z 1.5R, not an orbit Z. My guess is that you ordered the wrong crown race.

Yeh it is an Orbit Z1.5R.

Are the Steerer tube and headtube the same thing? because the steerer is 1 1/8!

This is the crown race i bought

Have i bought the right one?

the reason i ask the original question is because i still have a rubber seal which has nowhere to go.

also this is the CUBE site in English!!

I have a Orbit Z1.5r and yeah, there is nothing that goes between the crown race and the bearing. I always tighten up the everything first with the rubber seal sitting on the head tube of the bike, then move the seal down last thing. Anyway, just contact FSA, they will send you the correct race for a minimal price.

Head tube is the part on the frame where the fork mounts. the steer tube is the part of the fork that goes though the frame (head tube).

The Z1 comes in several flavors. The standard one fits a 1 1/8 head tube and 1 1/8 steer tube. It looks to me like the crown race is from this headset, so no, it is not the correct part.

You have a Z 1.5 R. "R' stands for reducer....or a headset that will reduce your frame head tube size (1.5") to your steer tube size (1 1/8). The crown race that you need has the same inner diameter, but has a larger in outer diameter. The larger outer diameter will fit the larger bearings that are in your larger head tube. The seal will sit between the crwon race and bearing cup. It will make more sense when you have the correct crown race.

Windwave is the UK distro for FSA http://www.windwave.co.uk/index.html they might be able to point you in the right direction...they also have a dealer finder....

Here is the part and part number though windwave http://www.windwave.co.uk/windwave/160-5477.html
