    Headset Preloader/Headlock for FOX 36

I am building a new AM bike that has a 1.5 headtube with a King Devolution headset so that I can use the Fox 36 Talas RC2 with 1 1/8" steerer tube. The King headset comes with a preloader device which eliminates the need for the star nut and supposedly is better for use with bigger forks. The King preloader can't be used with the 36 because the steerer tube tapers down to a very small opening at the bottom and the device won't fit through the hole.
Does anyone know if one of the other headset preloaders like Answer, Woodman, Gussett or others will work with the Fox 36 fork? I really like the idea of using something like that over the traditionla star nut. I also have some ideas of how to possibly make the King preloader work.

once your stem is clamped down on the steerer your headset shouldn't go anywhere regardless if starnut or king setup.

knock a starnut down there if there's not already one, tension your headset and ride.....
