    After a research Ive found your Sakura, very beautiful !!!

    I love the Maverick and the stem.

    Is-it a 17 height ?

    Its a great bike, funny and effective.

    Nice build! Glad to seem I'm not the only one around here sporting Chromag steel goodness. Mine's been seeing a lot more ride time lately, both me and the wife sharing it. Nothing but praise for it.

    I love the color on yours, very nice looking ride.

    What kind of tire clearance does

    the Sakura have? Can a legit 2.35 or 2.4 fit?

    Chromag Sakura from Oslo, Norway

    Here's mine, just just switched all the parts from my Chameleon to a new Chromag Sakura frame. Only a few short test rides yet, but an incredible comfort boost :-)

    The specs (with equpiment model year just for the heck of it):

    2008 Fox Float R 140mm
    1997 Chris King hubs, 2007 Notubes Flow rims, DT Supercomp spokes
    2008 Schwalbe Nobby Nic 2.4 Snakeskin tires (fine clearance, BTW)

    Beautiful Sakura geiranders, I'd always had my eye on the Samurai as a good balance of rugged HT without too much weight to climb, and use for pump tracks or whatever. But these Sakura builds and listed weights are really nice.

    These bikes are gorgeous. I can see how so many people are drawn back to a nice hardtail. One question, how did you ride the bike out to that trail without pedals?

    Hey T, that is one good lookin' ride man. How much does one of those frames set the average consumer back? It's a 26er right? Any consideration of a 29er?

    Yo! She's a 26er. I haven't heard any rumblings from Ian on a 29er. I think retail was around $1100 USD last time I checked. Not bad for a hand made True Temper OX Platinum frame.

    I just rode mine from Big Water to the Crest on an extended lunch break yesterday. It just screams up those climbs but I still managed to make it back to the parking lot in under 10 min. One heck of a hardtail...

    I think you really ought to get a new one soon and sell that one off locally at an extremely discounted rate, after all that blue is sooooo 2007. I could probably find a buyer if you're interested.

    You guys here were big inspirations for the months waiting for frame and parts.
    I finally built it up, but hadnt a chance yet to go for a ride. Surely ll do this weekend.

    Specs.
    Chromag Sakura medium,
    RS Reba team 08 with u-turn,
    Sun ringle Wheelset,
    monstreous tioga DH tires,
    Formula K18,
    some Syntace, Salsa, Race face stuff,
    1x9 gearing,

    It came out at 12,2 kg due to the heavy heavy tires. Ill probably switch to Kena Nevegal or Maxxis something and ll end up at >11,5kg. Way more important than weight is; it really feels stable and solid.

    I love the Sakura. My list Aggressive XC hardtails that I am considering includes the Sakura, Cotic Soul, Genesis Latitude. However, the 456EVOII is under heavy consideration because of the price tag. The trade off is of course the 2lb weight penalty, 425 chainstay vs the 420mm chainstay of the Sakura and soul.

    I'm also considering the Chi-Ti custom route using the Sakura/ Coul geometry as the template.

    How is it in terms of technical climbing up roots/rocks/logs. I am just wondering what affect the shorter chainstays have compared to the 456's 425mm chainsty

    I've had my Sakura for about 6 years now. I was inspired to buy it because of this post by Err. I owned a Samurai at the time and it was an excellent AM hardtail and this post made me miss a more XC oriented bike. The Sakura is the most stable and neutral handling XC bike I've ever ridden, but it is an XC bike. If you want 140mm travel and 2.4" tires, you'll need a samurai. I've never ridden any of the Cotic products so I can't compare. I am a bit of a steel hardtail connoisseur and I have owned MANY bikes, including several custom built frames, and they are all gone and the Chromag remains. Best steel hardtail I've ever owned.
