Well, It's a good crank set IF you're riding rocks a lot and need to shift to get out of sticky situations, that is. SLX and Stylo cranks are strong and yet not so expensive. My opinion, I feel the HS cranks are for the lazy.
I give positive rep all around but then I get negative rep from all the clowns.

Ordered a Hammerschmidt today. Got it for little under 300+ shipping brand new so really couldnt pass the deal up. Now just gotta shop around for sram xo components to complete the 2x10 swap. Anybody know of any sites having sales right now?

I have a bunch of Chromag and twenty6 on my bike, so I'm not above putting cosmetic money into it. That said, I can't see any reason to move away from my SLX cranks. I think they look better than the XTs, too. Just get rid of the stock bashguard that comes with the SLX double. It's heavy and ugly.

I was semi-curious about that Nicolai B-Boxx internally geared crankset that was shown a few years ago, but it seems to be vaporware. Protos looked cool, though.

My bad, it's actually thm-clavicula. The site I last saw it on had them grouped with the kcnc stuff.
