New question here. Fulcrum Red Metal 3 - Anyone running them?

Looking to pull a bit of weight out of my wheels (Currently running XT M788). Saw the Fulcrum Red Metal 3 wheelset that comes in AFS Splined and has a spec'd weight 200g or so less than the XT set.

    - Anyone using them? They tough and reliable?
    - Do they actually weigh 1680g?
    - Is AFS splined the same as Centerlock (will a Shimano Centerlock rotor fit straight on?).

    Cheers.

I ran the Red Zone for two seasons. They were stiff and light but not as stiff as my Havoc's. The rim metal is soft so don't run too low of pressure it can flat spot easily. The Freehub worked really well. I had to use the bearing preload adjust about every 60 days. They never went out of true even when I lost two spokes. Parts are hard to find. They are good wheels and I really liked mine.

I've run Red Metal Zero's for a number of seasons on a Pivot M5.7. I've had zero issues with them. They were more or less the advertised weight. Note they have different listed weights for different hub configurations and the QR (if used) is not included in the weight. I am happy with the stiffness. They have never gone out of true. Work great tubeless. The decals on the rims are not the most robut, but other than that, no complaints.

    Thanks for the info guys.

So no one actually running the Red Metal 3?

Anyone know if AFS spined is compatible with a Shimano Centerlock rotor?

    Cheers.

I'm on Red Metal One, the one that uses 2mm spokes. It's the best rim I've used so far. Feels better than ZTR w Hope Pros

I think Fulcrum makes awesome wheels.

I have a set. So far so good, they are stiff, and I like the engagement. I run 2.4 and 2.2s at 30psi, no issues at alll.
