Front Tire - North East Rider - 29er Hardtail

    Hey Guys,

I live in New York, and am riding places like sprain ridge, glacier park, six mile run... so I really need a good AM tire. I ride a giant talon 29er2, which is a hardtail, and came stock with Kenda Small Block Eight, 29x2.1... I like them on the rear, they seem fast and now that im running them at a lower psi they arent slipping as much on me. However, i am less confident with them as my front tire. I have slid out on turns several times, mostly in moist conditions. I am looking for a good, fast front tire, that will handle much better in all condidions, especially when cornering.

One of the tires that i was looking at has been the Maxxis Ardent 29x2.25... was wondering what your thoughts on this tire, or any other suggestions may be.

    Thanks

    Ardent EXO 29 x 2.4

The Ardent EXO is a great front tire @ 2.4"
Surprisingly nimble for being so big.
I run it tubeless at ~21psi ... no problems.

My go to front tire for the past three or four seasons has been the Panaracer Rampage 2.35. I've run it in everything from snow to sand and been very happy. Always run tubeless too.

I ride 6 mile run quite a bit, in addition to a variety of trails around Philly; I've been realling digging the WTB Bronson on the front. It sticks like glue in the corners, rolls fast and handles rocks and roots very well. Since I've started using it, a lot of guys in my lbs have also switched over.
