    Evo obsession???

WTF is up with "evo"? It seems like it started with specialized (could be wrong there) and now every manufacturer is using it. Evo hubs, Evo rims, Evo bars, Evo helmets... about the only place i have not seen it used is the Evo vagina but I'm sure someone will catch on and we will see that soon too. Not sure that we'd want to see that though.

I felt that way with "x-treme," "extreme," and any other variants. It's the latest buzz word and it too will become overused and eventually be a worthless phrase. Thank a suit in a marketing think tank for that.

Yep, already an overused "marketing" term which was my point. I still don't even have a clue as to what it means.

I would hazard a guess to think it means "evolution", or rather the next thing, progression, the next step. I agree I dislike it too.

I'm just waiting for the soft taco EVO from Taco Bell

The only "Evo" I had (and it's to the point of "had") respect for was the Lancer Evo which was a shortened version of "Evolution"

Yeah, the Lancer Evo is the only thing that should bear the name "Evo". Everyone else can go pound sand.

Marketing buzzword. Make a new product, keep the name/brand recognition but add Evo to the end so people know that its a new product. Agree that it's overused.

    Evos suck, STI ftw.

A few years back every kids toy had Turbo in their names. "Turbo clothing iron!" "Turbo toothbrush!".

I want to see that on bikeparts! I sure as hell would buy a "Shimano Turbo Shadow Plus Mega" drivetrain option!

"Evo" is just newish in mtb. Been around in other sports for a while. Eventually you just tune these words and phrases out haha
