Caution; Merge; Workers Ahead! DIY: MudGuard Project

Recently, I installed new MudGuard designed by my friend Luke from HCC Components [you can download the PDF file HERE]. The MudGuard is made from a black polypropylene sheet 1mm thick. It replaced my previous self-made summer-edition micro-guard. Before installing I heated it over kitchen gas-stove in order to give it a proper shape. This is not necessary but after pre-shaping the MudGuard fits better to the shape of the fork, like the proverbial glove. In addition, I covered all the contact points with the protection film. It effectively protects the fork from scratches but also prevents the zip ties from moving as they bite into the soft plastic and remain in one place. Should we remove the mudguard for the summer our fork will be free of scratches and rubbing marks. After all, it is easier to sell a fork that looks like new

Feel free to download the project and alter it up to your preferences.
Please post some photos if you happen to make your own MudGuard.

    Here's what it looks like:

I also made some rear micro-guard for my Chilcotin. It protects only suspension links and helps reduce the amount of crap landing on that little shelf where the front dérailleur's cable stop is mounted.

HCC is a young and very promising Polish company.
Luke started designing and producing some small parts like MudGuards, Chain Tensioners, Chain Rings, etc just out of his pure passion for bikes and engineering. He would then send the prototypes to bikers from Enduro Trophy forum for tests. After many alterations when the stuff started to work well and with the positive feedback from bikers he started the company - HCC Components. Hopefully, they will come up with the English version for the website soon.
