    Da Bomb Cherry Bomb

Hello! I'm Italian and this is my first post on this interestig forum (just registered).

I just bought a new frame Da Bomb Cherry Bomb (version 3-5" rear excursion with metel-R Manitou) from ChainReactionCycles.

I received a package with my black new Cherry frame yesterday.

Now I have to mount it.

I'm interesting in build a light bike
(I know that frame is not light but heavy ).

What do you think about Cherry Bomb frame in general and in particular for XC-ALL Mountain use?

(more heavy than XC, more light than Free ride).

Do you have suggestion about component I have to buy to create a nice bike?

    Thanks a lot ! and Buy !!!

    Ciao welcome to the forums.

Sweet frame to build a AM bike on, build it as a 5" & shred trail. Depending on your preference I would go with XT rear & LX front for the derailleurs with LX shifters, great pricing & very sturdy. Drive line go 2X9 with a bash guard.

Thanks! This is exactly the frame I just bought. I bought this because the price is very good! As front fork I ordered a Rock Shox Revelation 426 dual air fork 130mm (not U-Turn).
I was thinking to mount XTR, or is too expensive for this kind of frame?

If your buying new components XTR is over kill because if you damage it your out a chunk of money. I have been using the XT rear for a long time with great success, I do have a couple bikes with the old XTR but I bought them slightly used for $40 US so the price was right. The front der doesnt get used allot so the high end is pointless LX or XT is awesome. For the shifters if money is flowing out your pockets XTR is awesome XT is great LX is good. Check out the Hayes Stroker Trail brakes going with a 8" front & 6" rear.

Nice fork by the way the new RS suspension is really smooth.

The transmission is a mix of XT and XTR.
Front Derailleur Shimano XT (less expensive), rear I mounted XTR but the XTR base (alu, NOT carbon more expensive). Command XTR (I like a lot this kind of commands that I have on another bike). Rear pack cassettes Shimano XT 11-34 (9V). Chains Shimano HG (don' remember number but for XT or XTR).
Cranksets - Chainsets Shimano XT HollowTech II M770 (165mm the lenght).

I mounted brake Formula ORO 24 K, front disk 203 mm, rear disk 180 mm (Original Formula Disk sold with brakes).

Fork Revelation Rock Shox 130 mm Dual Air but not U-turn version, just 130mm
(the new version now has 140mm but I have the old one that has 130mm).

Grips Ergon carbon (I know that they are very good but they are not the best for this kind of bike, better perhaps the normal grips without extensions, but for the moment I'm happy as is, I'm thinking to change them with two da-bomb original... I' don't know... I'm thinking).

I ride yesterday and today. I ride on the road and out of the road. I ride in a city park with hills and steps. Is very good riding up on the steps (they are not very high so is simple to ride up), and I ride down. Very good frame, and very good bike, in my opinion. Light just to climb up without problems and strong and stable to run down. Good brakes.

Wich kind of pedals do you suggest? I 'm thinking to change my actual pedals dual (one side flat and the other side SPD), with two flat like DMR V12, or Da Bomb flat.
Do you think that should be a good idea or not? and if yes wich pedals is better for trails, and All Mountain? Thanks a lot ! Bye !

everyone will have their own opinion but i like the wellgo mg1's, recently mounted some specialized lowpro mag 2's

some people knock specialized and their prices for some items but they were the same price as the wellgo's and i like them a lot, only thing i plan on changing is the pins as they're slightly too short
