I have a Joplin R with almost 2 years and no problems until now.
I usually do the maintenance, but this last Sunday the post went down a little every time I sit on. Monday I was going to dismantle the Joplin but the 10mm nut don't came out. I don't know way, last time that I put it it went fine.
You probably need to hit it with an impact wrench of some type. A 3/8 drive pistol style, with a deep well 10mm socket on it, hooked up to a real air compressor would twist it right off. (not one of those little 20 gallon compressors, you need something that will allow the impact wrench to work at full power)
Doing it by hand, the whole shaft is probably spinning around as you spin the nut trying to back it off.
I had this work for me. Try compressing the post all the way down using the compression force to hold the shaft in place. Just break the nut loose and don't remove it all the way or when you release the remote it will shoot the outer tube off.
