    Considering a Sinister Gruitr

Ok this is one of those what do I buy threads.

I like to ride technical and gnarly all mountain terrain.

My favorite riding spot it here: (these are not my video's)

Currently I don't do any lift service riding, but I'd like something I can take up to Highland on the weekend if I want to. The problem is it also needs to be able to power up nasty climbs that have step ups in them over rocks and roots. So it needs to be able to handle technical singltrack, climbing, and descending, with the occasional jump and drops to flat. The video links are of the area I spend 2-3 days a week riding in. The thing is people ride in there with XC bikes to full DH rigs. Choosing whats right for me is the difficult task.

A friend of mine is pushing the Sinister Gruitr.
The guy in the video is riding a Pivot Mach 5
I'd also consider the Pivot Firebird.
    or Specailized Enduro

Budget, I'd like to stay in the 3k range.

*note, I am currently riding a Specialized Stumpjumper and I am beating the crap out of it. I want to go a little more burly. Sometimes at speed it feel squirly on this bike, especially after landing off drops of greater that 2'.

how do you like fsr suspension? if its working well for you id stick with spec, sounds like an enduro or pitch would suit you nicely.

I'm not sure you will be able to find a new Gruitr - but there is one for sale on the New England regional mtb forums and I think also listed on Ridemonkey.com
