Can you replace any rear shock ?

Hi everyone I was wondering if I can change the rear shock of my mountain bike, its a Schwinn graft pro that I bought from a friend quite recently for 250.00 and I find that the rear shock looks cheap, I would like to know if I can replace it.

It depends on the size and clearance. You should be able to if its a standard size and its not proprietary.

May I ask for a link to a good online shop that could give me some reference to look if I can buy the same parts on ebay?

You may find that a shock will cost up to half of what you paid for the bike, especially if it's an odd size.

What kind of shock is it? You might be able to get it serviced for cheaper.

up to half? you would probably end up with a more expensive shock than the whole bike. not worth it.

270 referes to the spring weight. increase to get stiffer, decrease to get softer.

The graft pro is a Canadian Tire special - acailable new for $500 - you did well getting it for $250.

As far as upgrading, save your money, ride the bike til it dies, then purchase something new VS upgrading that bike.
