    pretty good for loose over hard but the sidewalls are super flimsy.

    OP... That IS old the lunar rover wheel. Newscientist originally posted the wrong image.

    This is the new rover wheel. The difference is that the new rover wheel is made of a bunch of springs. It adds 90 horsepower.

    I can't imagine them doing too well in mud. Now when is someone going to develop a solid, airless rubber tire that's durable, supple and light. OK you nanoengineers, get to work!
