Smile Best Hardtail Mountain Bike for $450 USD & Under that can be bought Online?

HI, I need a little help,

I've set my mind on a Hardtail Mountain that is under $450 USD, but I don't know much about brands & which to choose. It seems like the Iron Horse Maverick 5.5 Mountain Bike at www.performancebike.com is the only bike that fits in the range. "I can only buy it online" so please recommend other good online site. For some reason I don't like Mongoose bikes..

    Thanks For All Replys

For $450? That would only cover the frame. I assume the OP is looking for a complete bike. Is that true or do you just need a frame?

Since you only want a bike from the net, check out IbexBikes and BikesDirect. They have a few choices in that price range.

Trek 4300 is okay, put a few more dollars in and get the 4500. It's well worth it.... And as for bikesdirect... Naw. Good call going to a LBS. If you find a store, your best bet is to go in there and say hey bud, whatcha got in this price range? You might find that even for another $30-$50 dollars, you can get a lot more bike in a different brand. The LBS around here are pretty good at competing with each other as well, which is weird becuase they're both Trek authorized dealers, and they'lll undercut each other on Trek.... Cool eh?
    1x9 Hardtail, yummy.....
