    Bar/Stem Recommendations AM/FR

Hey guys, thanks for your input on my crank thread. Hopefully some of you can help me choose a good bar/stem combo for preferably under $100. I mostly ride AM but ride DH at diablo a few times a year. My current mid stem and short handlebars aren't suiting me for my style of riding. I want a wider bar (preferably 700mm+) and shorter stem.
Any input on my current options is greatly appreciated. Other suggestions are also appreciated
I'm leaning toward the Gravity Stem + Bar because it's the cheapest lol.
    Thanks,
    Tim

IMHO I think you should spend a little more money. I only buy components that hold value. So when ever I want to make a change I know I'm going to get good return from a Thomson stem, Eastern Bar, Hope Hubs, XT or above Shimano conponents. Discover eBay.

+1111 on the Sunline V1 bars.

Although I would skip eBay and snipe them on Chainlove.com, they've been running on sale these past 2 weeks, all colors and rises for $34.99 (managed to scoop up a pair of red 19mm rise 745s for my next build lol). Also the V1 Flat OS 762 keeps popping up.

And you can match it with the Sunline AM stem (50mm and 65mm sizes) also on Chainlove, either $24.99 or same price as the bars, can't recall. Although reading reviews, the bolts used on them are kinda soft.

I just did a factory direct order with chromag for some fubar osx bars and I am stoke about it. The guys there are super friendly and helpful and I think I will love these bars. Bars that fit are important so I will enjoy the 25mm rise to them to keep stress off my hands.
A quality stem is important and one that won't break on a ride is very important, especially for more aggressive riding associated with AM/RE

The Truvativ Husselfelt 60mm is a good choice for AM/DH and it won't break the bank: Truvativ Hussefelt Stem at JensonUSA.com

Also comes in a 40mm if you want to ride further back, just depends on how much uphill you plan on doing.

Might as well get the Truvativ Holzfeller, save a little weight. Both are pretty durable.

Truvativ Holzfeller Riser 2010 at Price Point

I have a set of these I just pulled off my Chromag, going with something different. A few scratches under the grips (was using lock ons) and under the stem area, but I would sell them for cheap, if you want them.
