    AM Shoelaces

one of my shoelaces has broken, so I thought I would take the plunge and get some proper AM shoelaces. Does anyone have any that they can recommend?

Please don't recommend XC or DH shoelaces as they would not be fit for intended purpose.

    Thanks.

P.S I would like them in green.

    May I recommend the following:

Available in green and a variety of other colours, only a mild weight penalty, and won't break or untie (padlock sold seperately)...

Just use old brake and derailleur cables. The brake cables may be too heavy duty though.

Yeah, I thought it was kinda funny. At least as clever as half the posts around here. Plus, it does hold some truth to it, I mean who the hell gets any real performance benefits from RaceFace socks at $15 a pop?!

Bah! The roadie crowd has already done this:
    S-Works Road Shoe
which of course means it must be far too inferior in strength and overall dew-ness for use in the AM scene.
Perhaps a couple of substitutions would make them more appropriate for AM use. Swap out specialized's "high strength replaceable braided steel lace" with s62's 1inch link chain; and while we're at it, get rid of that wimpy plastic knob to tighten, use a 1/2 inch socket drive instead. You would probably have to add some lead plates to them somewhere too, as they would still be too light for am use...

Not sure who the original poster was that said it, but to borrow a line from him about his LBS, "This makes me so mad I could head butt a kitten"
"Why are you willing to take so much & leave others in need...just because you can?"

in the words of Dr. Cox: "Oh.....my God, my head is now pounding pounding pounding and I can't seem to put my finger on exactly what it is.... Oh, hello there hazylogic. And as i back away I feel the pain residing." Jesus if you had some good Velcroョ in the first place you wouldn't have snapped your inferior hollow-core polyester/nylon hybrid laces.....those are low-durability high-performance one-race-only laces and you were using them for the wrong purpose. it's like trying to race DH on an R-Seven fork.

All Mountain shoelaces are totally worthless until you learn how to tie them properly. But the hope isn't all lost yet! There are still last places left in the shoelaces tying course, delivered by the best professional around. As a MTBR member, you are entitled to 3.12% discount, provided you purchase full 8 volume edition of my world renowned book "Shoelace science on shoelace budget", containing all the recommendations you will ever need.

All your shoes should be velcro.

I知 a newbie around here and this, believe it or not, was my first venture off the Beginners Corner thread. Since I知 still not quite sure if this is a joke or there really are people out there that seem to think that shoelaces are this important, I値l go back to the Beginners Corner thread. I値l try again next week maybe, just maybe, I値l be a little smarter

I usually refer http://www.fieggen.com/shoelace/lacingmethods.htm and opt for the double back method. I may look into Shoelace science on shoelace budget if I incur any further problems.

I still can't find any green AM laces.
